Orange Line Extension

The CTA Orange Line Extension would add approximately 2.3 miles to the Orange Line, extending it from Midway International Airport south to 76th Street/Ford City Mall. The project would utilize the existing right-of-way of the Belt Railway Company of Chicago, as well as new elevated structures along Marquette and Cicero avenues. The extension would provide rail service to additional Southwest Side commuters and speed up transfers from the Orange Line to CTA buses.
